Bei dem Anfang März in der japanischen Famitsu enthüllten Spiel handelt es sich um ein Sequel zu "Umbrella Chronicles", welches erneut exklusiv für Nintendos Wii entwickelt wurde.
Die Handlung thematisiert diesmal die Geschehnisse aus "Resident Evil 2". Spielbare Charaktere sind unter anderem dessen Protagonisten Leon Kennedy und Claire Redfield.
Erster Produzent ist Masachika Kawata (Capcom), zweiter Kentaro Noguchi beim Entwicklungs-Studio Cavia.
Während der Vorgänger noch an der USK-Hürde scheiterte und sogar auf den Index gesetzt wurde, ist Teil 2 in Deutschland offiziell und unzensiert erschienen.
